  1. Psalm 119:2 This verse makes explicit what is implicit throughout the psalm: Scripture is revered because it consists in God’s statutes; it is God that his servants seek and not the book for its own sake.
  2. Psalm 119:3 Ways: although the Hebrew for this word occurs infrequently in this psalm, it is found often in Deuteronomy and elsewhere. There it refers to the requirements of God’s covenant (see note on Ps 25:4-7).
